8W Hosts Irish Trade and Innovation Delegation In The Netherlands

8 West were honoured to host the Irish Trade and Innovation delegation lead by Minister of State Robert Troy, and senior staff of Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM) Anneke Salden and Sander Kuipers in Scheveningen, The Netherlands. SafeTrx Assists in Rescue of British Windsurfer

Fantastic to see this successful rescue of a windsurfer who got into difficulty off the coast of Hove, England. Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat Station and HM Coastguard Shoreham were tasked to the incident and quickly arrived on scene after the windsurfer had used the Royal Yachting Association SafeTrx mobile app to call for help which automatically shared regular GPS updates with rescue services. SafeTrx is directly connected to search and rescue organisations, minimising the time you’re left in the water and enabling your local search and rescue services to get help to you faster than ever.

The SafeTrx Active watch was recently tested by Discovery Channel‘s show ‘How do they do it?’ Dutch TV host Joep van Deudekom was thrown in the cold water near the shore of Texel island. The combination of innovative IOT technology and the persistent effort of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM) rescue crew worked seamlessly and got him safe on land. Mission accomplished! The SafeTrx Active watch will feature on the popular TV show this Autumn.

Australian Outriggers Canoe Racing Association Choose SafeTrx Flotilla

We are delighted to announce that the Australian Outriggers Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA) has chosen SafeTrx Flotilla to safely track participants at their national and international events. With over 4,000 members, AOCRA is the national governing body for the sport of outrigging canoe paddling in Australia and is responsible for the governance, management and administration of the sport at a national level. An increasingly popular water sport, outrigger canoe paddling has its origins in the coastal culture of the Pacific rim region. AOCRA oversees and organises racing throughout Australia, working with individual state zones to run events throughout the country.
