SafeTrx Assists in Rescue of 15 year old Surf Skier

On Saturday 20th November, Darren Zimmerman, the station commander of National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Simonstown, reported the NSRI EOC (Emergency Operations Centre) received a SafeTrx emergency alert from a surf skier off-shore of Simonstown indicating an emergency from a local surf skier. NSRI EOC made a phone call to the surf skier who confirmed that he needed urgent assistance. NSRI coast watchers were alerted and they immediately got “eyes on” the surf skier in distress. The sea rescue craft ‘Donna Nicholas’ was diverted from another call out and was directed to the position reported on the SafeTrx emergency alert. Redningsselskapet Operational Statistics Shows Significant Rise in SafeTrx Activity

Every year, more and more people around the world are putting their trust in SafeTrx tracking and alerting technology. Norway is no different as Martin Fuhr Bolstad, Director of Digitalisation and Projects of Redningsselskapet (Norwegian Sea Rescue Society), shared the latest SafeTrx operational statistics at the annual SafeTrx User Group meeting earlier this month.  Martin reported that Redningsselskapet saw over 5,000 trips logged on the SafeTrx tracking and alerting Smartphone application so far this year. This sees a substantial 50% increase on the same period last year, allowing the rescue organisation to safely monitor more leisure craft traffic on the water.  Redningsselskapets have had over 350 SafeTrx assistance and emergency missions this year, which translates into 7% of the rescue organisation’s total number of missions.  Redningsselskapet also prevented people …

46% increase in the number of SafeTrx emergency calls in The Netherlands

Every year more and more people around the world are putting their trust in SafeTrx tracking and alerting technology. Reports from the end of September 2021 shows that the KNRM Helpt SafeTrx app was at the centre of over 300 search and rescue missions in The Netherlands. This included both emergency and assistance missions resulting from SafeTrx app alert activations.
